This journey will take about 3 hours and you will have plenty of stops en-route to take in the beautiful landscape. After check in we will start our game drive, which will continue until late in the afternoon and includes a picnic lunch in the park. This vast park gets its name from the Tarangire river that winds its way through the parklands, attracting many diverse animals to its waters, giving you a chance to spot elephants, giraffe, lions, antelopes, and zebra. After today’s game drive you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Lake Manyara Nation Park
After breakfast, you will leave Tarangire National Park and head to Lake Manyara. Here you will enjoy afternoon game drive, and eat lunch surrounded by nature once more. This park bursts with an extensive variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, unique tree-climbing lions, and large flocks of flamingos. After today’s game drive, drive to the nearby region of Karatu for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast today we will descend 600m into a magnificent and ancient crater for a full-day game drive. The high rim creates a breathtaking environment and a dense population of migratory animals. It is one of the most densely populated African wildlife areas in the world, with some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino found here. Your day chasing the migration comes to an end with dinner and a night at a lodge along the crater rim.
Excitement will hang in the air today as you drive towards THE most celebrated national park in the world…The Serengeti! Here, your dreams of visiting the world of Disney’s Lion King will come to pass. Today we explore the central park area, known as the Seronera area. This part of the park provides a rich habitat for wildlife, with the Seronera River winding through the land. After your first day in the Serengeti, you will have dinner and spend the night in the Seronera area.
Today we explore another area of the incredibly diverse Serengeti! After breakfast, we will drive towards the northern area of the Serengeti National Park, also known as the Wagakuria. As we head north, you will have ample opportunity to spot giraffe, herds of buffalo and elephants as well as other migratory animals. We will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive in the area. A long stretch of the Mara River rushes through this area, creating the migrating herd with its most difficult obstacle. Watching the wildebeest cross the Mara River is an absolutely epic event to witness! Tonight you will have dinner and overnight in the Wagakuria area.
After breakfast, it’s time for another game drive in the Wagakuria region of the Serengeti. The wildlife here is incredibly dense, with lion prides of up to 30 lions! During the great migration, this area is a paradise for wildlife watchers, with herds sometimes crossing the Mara River multiple times throughout the day. This area itself is stunning, changing continuously from kopjes, woodland, dense vegetation, and open plains. After your adventure, you will have dinner and overnight in the Wagakuria area once more.
As we are sure you noticed yesterday, this area is absolutely teeming with life. As such we need another day to explore it! You will spend the whole day in the north of the Serengeti. After your jam-packed day surrounded by nature, you will spend your final night in the Serengeti once more. Be sure to take it all in tonight; being so far from the city is great for the soul!
