A night game drive gives you a splendid opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are hard to see during the day. Animals such as leopards, African wild dogs, hyenas, porcupines, genets, civets & bushbabies are often most mobile at night, you have an excellent chance of viewing these animals at their most vibrant.
At night the park is completely transformed, bathed in moonlight with a gentle breeze blowing, elusive animals crawl out from their slumber habitats and start their ‘day’.
Night drives are available at some of the national parks such as Tarangire and Manyara, as well as on the outskirts of Serengeti National park.
In the south of Tarangire lies the famous remote Silale Swamp. The swamp comes alive with activity at night and is an excellent spot for game viewing.
Lake Manyara national park also hosts night game drives.Hippos can often be seen grazing at night. Leopards although elusive are often spotted. Lions – who generally enjoy napping and sleeping during the hot days are often much more active at night and can be easily spotted.
